How to apply

Ready to take the next steps?

We welcome students to apply to join our school community. With our career focused education, students can prepare for a variety of pathways following graduation. Our programs have led students to technical schools, 2 and 4-year colleges, apprenticeships, military, and straight to entry level careers.

What path will you take?

Sending High Schools

Crawford County Career and Technical Center has students attend from all three Crawford County School Districts: Crawford Central, Conneaut, and PENNCREST.

Admissions Process

Sending School Presentations

September

Orientations are given at each of the participating sending schools to familiarize students with the career choices available at Crawford County CTC.

Campus Tour

October

All 9th grade students tour the current 17 shops at Crawford County CTC. Immediately Following Tours – All interested 9th, 10th and 11th grade students submit applications, signed by their parent/guardian, to their high school counselor. The sending school furnishes additional information, including past academic records, performance in any prerequisite courses for particular programs, and attendance records.

Open House

November

All interested students are encouraged to come to Crawford Tech’s Open House event. This event allows for students and parents to meet program instructors and ask questions prior to making program choices on their application

Student Interview

December

Each Application is interviewed by the Crawford Tech Counselor or Special Populations Coordinator. The interview encourages students to review their program choices and connect them to current and past experiences, as well as future post-secondary goals.

Work Sessions

January/February

Each applicant spends a half-day at Crawford County CTC in a work session in the shop(s) of their choice. This permits each student to get “hands-on” experience and to be evaluated by the instructor in the area(s) in which he/she might be interested.

Acceptance

Spring

The number of openings for each program is determined and selections are made on an equal opportunity basis until all openings are filled. Each student will receive an acceptance or wait-list notice in the mail. Notices must be reviewed and signed by the student as well as their parent/guardian and then submitted to the school.

As an interested student or the parent/guardian of a 9th grade student, you need to be aware of the opportunities available to you/your student at Crawford County Career and Technical Center. With careful planning, all high school students can attend Crawford Tech and complete all graduation requirements at the home high school. It is, also, possible for students who attend Crawford County CTC to continue their education after high school graduation at college or postsecondary trade and technical schools. We encourage parents to assist their student in planning for their future. Please feel free to call Mrs. Laura Peterson, Chairperson, Student Services, at 814-724-6024, ext. 208, if you have any questions.
